Some very specific suggestions on how to use the Knee Exerciser Pro® that are justified by research:
“The Knee Exerciser Pro® should be used 3–5 times a day for 5 – 10 minutes at a time. When using the Knee Exerciser Pro®, never cause excessive pain and always hold the stretch position for at least 20 – 30 seconds at the end of the available range of motion. Remember, never hold your breath while using the Knee Exerciser. If you find that the quadriceps or hamstring muscle groups are contracting to control knee movement when you’re using the Knee Exerciser you’re applying to much force in an attempt to gain range of motion. Any mild discomfort experience after using the Knee Exerciser should dissipate in less than 24 hours.”
If pain persists longer than this timeframe, you are using it to vigorously, and you should seek additional guidance from your physical therapist or physician. The Knee Exerciser Pro® is not intended to be a substitute for formal supervised care by your physician or physical therapist but is a tool to assist in your recovery.
